MARK'S BLURB

Well Doug & I finally got around to hosting an admissions test. We tested four prospects! Three was the most I'd seen before, so interest from outside the organization seems to be healthy. Attendance at local events, however, continues to dwindle. In light of this we are scaling back the monthly meeting schedule. I do hope to see a resurgence in interest once the summer passes, but for the time being count on finding your local Mensan's at Harrigan's on the last Sunday of the month.

In other news, we gained two new members last month. A hearty welcome aboard to reinstating member Richard Bates ad our latest move-in Phoenix Lundstrum! I hope you can make it out to a meeting soon.

I really don't have much else to report this month. Hope everyone's enjoying their summer!

LOCSEC THOUGHTS & STUFF

Sorry about the issues with the site. The navbar was not cooperating and my java skills are limited. I wound up having to rebuild the site and redo it all from scratch. I've also added some new pages and am still needing to do some updating. I hope you like the changes. -jm

Ok. Here it is, the middle of July and no site updates?  Well, between the 4th and my long 4 day weekend this last weekend for my birthday, this is the result. A delayed website updating. Bad LocSec/Webmaster! Yes, I know. Well, the good news in the group that even with the losses that we get around renewal time, we still have officially 46 members with no losses or gains as of 06/30.  Welcome back Richard and welcome to Phoenix! I also get to report that one of our newest members contacted me and is trying to bring a few more people into the fold as well. Welcome aboard Ian.

I am looking at August as the month to try and get a BBQ or picnic organized as a way of meeting other members and our families. I have delayed this more to the fact of our recent inclimate weather. I have several parks as options (unless someone is wanting to host it at their home). Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. The BBQ will consist of some burgers, hotdogs and some sausages. Chips, deserts and drinks will be provided.

I was wondering if we could re-institute game nights? Traditional games as Monopoly, Risk, cards, etc would be good. I am also looking at games such as 40k, Magic (the card game) and console games. Anyone for some CoD4?
